Advance Roofing, Windows, Siding & Doors has been providing expert roof replacement and repair for almost 30 years, and is proud to be partnering with many of the leading companies in the industry.
The roofing industry has been marred over the years with its fair share of negative press. However Advance Roofing, Windows, Siding & Doors has easily avoided the typical pitfalls that betray most roofing companies. For example, we never start a new job until the one we’re working on is completely finished. We also never promise to perform any work sooner than we can reasonably schedule it. Loyal customers are quick to point out our direct approach as one of the reasons for doing business with us.
New challenges face today’s roofer and being a student of our industry has always given us a competitive edge. For instance, improvements in modern attic ventilation and the application of proper under-layments make all the difference between a professional roofer and a mere shingle layer. Advance Roofing, Windows, Siding & Doors uses only the best flashing systems and are proud to use techniques that far exceed the local roofing code requirements.
Roof Ventilation… A Closer Look
Why do you need roof ventilation? In cold weather, warm air generated by laundry, showers, dish washing and cooking can linger in the house and cause moisture build-up. In the summer, heat build-up encourages premature aging and cracking of wood and roofing materials. Unwanted heat can also transfer back down into living areas, reducing energy efficiency.
The only way to combat these problems is with a balanced ventilation system. In a balanced system, wind blowing over the ridge creates a negative pressure that draws the warmer air out of the attic. Replacement air enters through the under eave or soffit vents, bathes the underside of the roof, and exits at the ridge cap through ridge vents, roof vents or gable vents. Even with no wind, the natural convection action of rising warm air maintains a continuous airflow along the underside of the roof. It’s a system that works year ’round with no moving parts or energy consumption. Are you interested in improving your ventilation?
The benefits of roof ventilation:
Allows outside air to flow naturally upward and out of attic.
Promotes a cooler, drier attic.
Helps prevent moisture from becoming trapped in insulation, structural wood, shingles and roof deck.
Helps prevent rotting, mildew, drywall damage, peeling paint and warped siding.
Provides year-round performance for consistent ventilation without energy consumption.
